The Pinetree PTA hopes all our Pioneers have a very Safe and Happy Halloween! Today is a "Professional Development Day" and our teachers will be hard at work training to better our Pioneer's education. 'Kids Are First' Fall Catalog Fundraiser Has your Pioneer been selling and turning in their coupons? The classrooms that turn in the most everyday get to have Ollie the Owl visit their classroom for the whole day and the students have been going crazy for him! Also, sales coupons are drawn daily and students have been winning prizes so make sure to turn them in as you sell. We have one week left as orders are due this Friday, November 4th. PTA Meeting and Reflections Gala Our next PTA Meeting is Thursday, 11/17 at 6:00pm followed by the Reflections Gala at 6:30pm where all pieces will be showcased and the chosen pieces that will move on to the district judging will be awarded. Come view the great artwork our Pinetree Pioneers worked so hard on! Refreshments will also be served. Box Tops Update Congratulations to Mrs. Nystrom's class, who are the winners of the box tops popcorn party prize! Her class got to participate in a popcorn, juice and craft party this past Friday.Keep collecting those box tops! The next prize will be awarded to the class that turns in the most box tops between now and December 7, and will be a holiday party pack ... hot cocoa and candy canes to be delivered during the last week of school before break. Remind your family, friends and neighbors to collect as well. It's a FREE and EASY way to help the Pinetree PTA. "Flip The Switch" Solar Panel Party Sulphur Springs School District has chosen our Pinetree school to be the hosting campus for the big "Flip The Switch" Solar Panel Kick-off Party for the whole district. This will be on Thursday, November 10th at 3:30pm on our large grass field. The Pinetree chorus will be performing and Pinetree PTA President Ginny Well's Daughter - Zoe Wells will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. This is a major event and we hope to see some Pinetree Parents and students attend and show how great our school is. Harvest Festival - Thank You! Thank you to everyone who came out to the Harvest Festival this past Friday, we hope you had as much fun as we did. A HUGE thank you goes out to our VP of Programs Apryl Reaber, our PTA Team and the parent volunteers who worked tirelessly to put on this great event! A very special thank you to Pinetree Dads Jacob Milhoan of Hotline Construction and Rod Blythe of Higher Ground Studio Services who kindly donated the use of their construction lights to Pinetree so we can keep the event open longer for our Pinetree Pioneers to enjoy. We would also like to thank the following companies who donated prizes to our silent auctions and raffles: American Girl, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, Aquarium of the Pacific, Pacific Park, Bagel Boyz, La Cocina, Firehouse Subs, Stater Bros, Pet Smart, BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse, RoundTable Pizza, Tresor Salon, Zoo Books, Oggi's Pizza, Laser Blast, Santa Barbara Zoo, D.W. You are welcome to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy during the movie. Make sure you come early for crafts, we have something really cool for our Pioneers to decorate! Please submit all box tops you collected to your teacher and they will pass it onto the PTA. The classroom that brings in the most box tops will win a popcorn party for the whole class. Make sure to encourage your friends, relatives and neighbors to collect box tops for Pinetree. It's a fun, easy and free way to help the Pinetree PTA. Membership Update Congrats to this year's Pinetree PTA board and our VP of Membership Leslie Atia as the Pinetree Community School PTA has been recognized by the 34th District PTA as one of only 4 schools in the SCV district to have already surpass last year's membership total. This Friday, the 14th is our Harvest Festival from 4pm to 8pm. It's always one of the greatest events of the year and this year it is even bigger! We'll be bringing back some of the favorites including the Obstacle Course, Giant Slide, Train, Laser Tag and Class game booths but new this year will be the Rock Wall, Photo Booth and Giant Sized Games! We'll also have some really great Raffles, Silent Auctions and the 6th Grade Food Booth. Fliers have been sent home with our presale offer. During the presale, wristbands will be $15 each which includes unlimited games, rides and photo booth. We're also pre-selling tickets at $10 for 15 tickets (ticket values below). Orders must be received by Wednesday, October 12 for this presale price. This will be the best value so please take advantage of it as wristbands will be $20 at the festival. Please send in cash or checks made out to Pinetree PTA with the bottom of the flier (click HERE to download) or go online HERE to pay with debit/credit card. For all students who bring in a carved pumpkin, they will receive a coupon for a free sno-cone or cotton candy. We will be opening will-call for presale wristbands and tickets at 1:45 on Friday. IMPORTANT: Waivers will be coming home this week that must be signed by all participant's guardians before they can enjoy any of the activities. Ticket Values Carnival Games will cost 1 ticket; Obstacle, Slide & Laser Tag* will cost 2 tickets; Rock Wall*, Photo Booth* & Train will cost 4 tickets. *some attractions will be closing at 7pm due to lighting (FOOD WILL BE SOLD SEPARATELY AT THE FESTIVAL) Harvest Festival Volunteers Needed We would not be able to put on this great event without the help of our great Volunteers. Anyone can volunteer - parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. Volunteer positions will be in half-hour shifts so you can volunteer and still spend time with your family. Our great teachers and room parents will also be doing classroom game-booths. If you're interested in volunteering to help with those, please check with your student's teacher or Room-Parent.
