Restaurant Night - Toppers Pizza Canyon Country
Our first Restaurant Night is tomorrow - Tuesday, September 27th from 3:30pm to 9pm.  It will be taking place at Toppers Pizza (Canyon Country) located at 18417 Soledad Canyon Rd.  Toppers will be donating 20% of all non-discounted sales to the Pinetree PTA.   Fliers will need to be presented to the cashier in order for us to get our portion of the sale.  You can also call and mention our flier to take advantage of their home delivery.  Fliers can be downloaded from our website (click HERE to view), our Facebook page or extras can be picked up in the office.  Take a night off from cooking and come out to Toppers.  We hope to see you all there!

Harvest Festival - Friday, Oct 14th!
Who's excited for this year's Harvest Festival???  It's always one of the greatest events of the year and this year it is even bigger!  It will be Friday, October 14th from 4pm to 8pm.  We'll be bringing back some of the favorites including the Obstacle Course, Giant Slide, Train, Laser Tag and Class game booths but new this year will be the Rock Wall, Photo Booth and Giant Sized Games!  We'll also have some really great Raffles, Silent Auctions and the 6th Grade Food Booth.

Fliers have been sent home with our presale offer.    During the presale, wristbands will be $15 each which includes unlimited games, rides and photo booth.  We're also pre-selling tickets at $10 for 15 tickets (ticket values below).  Orders must be received by Wednesday, October 12 for this presale price.  This will be the best value so please take advantage of it as wristbands will be $20 at the festival.  Please send in cash or checks made out to Pinetree PTA with the bottom of the flier (click HERE to download) or go online HERE to pay with debit/credit card.

Harvest Festival Silent Auctions
Not only will we have some great class/vendor donated baskets and Teacher/Principal lunches up for silent auction this year but we’ll be bringing back two favorites! Reserved Parking Spot in the School Parking Lot & a Personalized School Entrance Street Sign!  Both will be valid for one year (Nov 2016 to Oct 2017) Highest Bidder Wins! We’ll see you there!

Book Fair
Our Pirate themed book fair is this week - Monday (09/26) through Friday (09/30).
The Book Fair will be open:
Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri – 7:45am-2:45pm
Tues – 7:45am-1:30pm (due to early dismissal)

We're also holding a Coin-A-Day fundraiser to help us build and refresh the classroom libraries.
Mon - Sep 26th - Bring in Nickles and wear your favorite hat
Tues - Sep 27th - Bring in Dimes and wear crazy hair
Wed - Sep 28th - Bring in Quarters and wear your favorite color
Thurs - Sep 29th - Bring in Dollars and wear sports clothing

Spiritwear is in and was distributed to students last week. We would like to congratulate 2nd grader Lauren Reaber who's "emoji themed" design inspired this year's spiritwear! Don't forget to have your students wear their spiritwear or school colors every Friday and show their Pinetree Pioneer Pride!   If you didn't get your order in, we have very limited extras so please email [email protected] to check availability before placing your order.

Academic Olympics Final Tally
The final tally was announced at this past Friday's PTA Meeting. We would first like to thank all of the students who participated. This event made enough to fund the entire first payment for Enrichment and Brain Pop. We could not do what we do without the support of our awesome Pinetree families. Total raised was $12,052.53 which is nearly $4,000 more than last year's Tri-R-Athon!!!
Congrats to the Blue Team who came out on top.
Also, a special shoutout to Mrs. Nystrom's class who raised $1,145 in sponsorship, nearly 10% of the total funds raised. Zoe Starks from Ms. Delp's class will receive the honor of being the first handprint on our new mural wall for raising the most funds by a single student.

Academic Olympics Update
Last Friday, the students competed in the Academic Olympics Relay race and we have updated team totals below.  Is your student's team in the lead?  If not, we're still collecting additional sponsorship funds until this Friday, September 12th at which time the final tally will be determined and announced at the PTA Meeting/Ice Cream Social that night!
1st - Blue 2,388 Points
2nd - Orange 2,256 Points
3rd - Red 1,913 Points
4th - Yellow 1,828 Points
5th - Purple 1,653 Points
6th - Green 1,588 Points

Students can collect sponsorship two ways:
1. By cash or check using the pledge form which was sent home.  This works great for neighbors and in town family and friends (if needed, you can download and print a pledge form HERE)
2. You can also recruit sponsorship via email or Social Media by copying and pasting the link below and sending to out of state friends and family. They can click on the link and sponsor your student online safely via debit/credit cards.  Please make sure you share your student's name, teacher and team color which they will need to make their sponsorship

PTA Meeting / Ice Cream Social - This Friday!
Our next PTA meeting will be this Friday, September 16th at 5:30pm followed by our Annual Ice Cream Social from 6-8pm.  The Ice Cream social will feature raffles and our great Pinetree Teachers/Staff serving delicious ice cream sundaes! PTA members will receive one free ice cream sundae. Don't worry, if you're not a member yet, our VP of Membership - Leslie will be on hand to collect membership dues! Also, non PTA members can purchase sundaes at $1 each and some students will be awarded free ice cream sundae coupons this week from their teacher.  This is always a fun event, so come on out and make it a family night!

Academic Olympics Event Volunteers Needed
We're looking for volunteers for our Academic Olympics Event on September 9. This is our Survivor-style relay race that all grades will be participating in.  It's going to be fun, and the kids are really excited!
