Restaurant Night - Toppers Pizza Canyon Country Our first Restaurant Night is tomorrow - Tuesday, September 27th from 3:30pm to 9pm. It will be taking place at Toppers Pizza (Canyon Country) located at 18417 Soledad Canyon Rd. Toppers will be donating 20% of all non-discounted sales to the Pinetree PTA. Fliers will need to be presented to the cashier in order for us to get our portion of the sale. You can also call and mention our flier to take advantage of their home delivery. Fliers can be downloaded from our website (click HERE to view), our Facebook page or extras can be picked up in the office. Take a night off from cooking and come out to Toppers. We hope to see you all there! Harvest Festival - Friday, Oct 14th! Who's excited for this year's Harvest Festival??? It's always one of the greatest events of the year and this year it is even bigger! It will be Friday, October 14th from 4pm to 8pm. We'll be bringing back some of the favorites including the Obstacle Course, Giant Slide, Train, Laser Tag and Class game booths but new this year will be the Rock Wall, Photo Booth and Giant Sized Games! We'll also have some really great Raffles, Silent Auctions and the 6th Grade Food Booth. Fliers have been sent home with our presale offer. During the presale, wristbands will be $15 each which includes unlimited games, rides and photo booth. We're also pre-selling tickets at $10 for 15 tickets (ticket values below). Orders must be received by Wednesday, October 12 for this presale price. This will be the best value so please take advantage of it as wristbands will be $20 at the festival. Please send in cash or checks made out to Pinetree PTA with the bottom of the flier (click HERE to download) or go online HERE to pay with debit/credit card. Book Fair Our Pirate themed book fair is this week - Monday (09/26) through Friday (09/30). The Book Fair will be open: Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri – 7:45am-2:45pm Tues – 7:45am-1:30pm (due to early dismissal) We're also holding a Coin-A-Day fundraiser to help us build and refresh the classroom libraries. Academic Olympics Final Tally The final tally was announced at this past Friday's PTA Meeting. We would first like to thank all of the students who participated. This event made enough to fund the entire first payment for Enrichment and Brain Pop. We could not do what we do without the support of our awesome Pinetree families. Total raised was $12,052.53 which is nearly $4,000 more than last year's Tri-R-Athon!!! Congrats to the Blue Team who came out on top. Also, a special shoutout to Mrs. Nystrom's class who raised $1,145 in sponsorship, nearly 10% of the total funds raised. Zoe Starks from Ms. Delp's class will receive the honor of being the first handprint on our new mural wall for raising the most funds by a single student. Pinetree PTA's Tax ID# is 95-416082 Academic Olympics - This Friday, September 9th Students have been assigned a color team in this school-wide event. Points will be earned for their team through donations (1 point for each dollar sponsored). Each student that receives at least $10 in sponsorship will begin receiving prizes. The more sponsorship a student receives, the more prizes they will receive. For the students that bring in over $100 in sponsorship, they will get to place their hand print on our brand new mural wall that will be in the front of our MPR. Plus points will be awarded during the Academic Olympics event (taking place Friday, September 9th) which will be a Survivor-style relay race covering 5 academic topics, English, Math, Science, Current Events and Problem Solving. The students will work in teams to complete each relay station. The team that crosses the finish line first earns the most points for their team! Points will be tallied throughout the 2 week event, and the winning color team will earn a special prize! All profits from this fundraiser go directly to our students! Funds raised help us make our first payment for our Music, Art and Drama enrichment classes, pay for Brain Pop for all classrooms, the Reflections art competition, and countless other beginning of the year activities that give our Pinetree Pioneers a well rounded education. Academic Olympics Event Volunteers Needed We're looking for volunteers for our Academic Olympics Event on September 9. This is our Survivor-style relay race that all grades will be participating in. It's going to be fun, and the kids are really excited! We're using SignUp.com to help keep us organized. Please go to http://signup.com/go/Z6aDTj and sign up for a spot.
