A Message from our Pinetree PTA President
Hi, Pioneers!  Welcome back to our returning families, and a big Pinetree welcome to our new families. We had an amazing year last year, and have plans for 2017-2018 to be even bigger and better! 

Our Academic Olympics will be returning for a second year.  We know our Pioneers wanted to run the full course last year and do all of the obstacles … and this year they can!  We have some awesome prizes for our students, and a grand prize of a family 4-pack to Magic Mountain.  Look for more information to come home in a few weeks.

Our first association meeting will be held on Thursday, August 24 at 6 p.m. followed by back to school night.  Our Pinetree kids are always welcome at PTA meetings, and we’ll be offering something fun for them to do at each meeting while we take care of any business items. 

PTA is proud to sponsor Music, Art and Drama classes for all of our students each year, as well as Brain Pop for all of the classrooms, new library books, classroom materials, fun family activities, field trips and assemblies and so much more!  We could not do this without the support of our Pinetree families.  For the PTA to be effective and truly represent our school, your participation is essential.  Whether you are able to help out by becoming a PTA member, volunteering at events, supporting our fundraisers, attending our PTA meetings, and/or volunteering in the classroom, we appreciate your support.  We want everyone to feel that they are part of the Pinetree Community.  Your ideas, time, talents and input make a difference!

Welcome Social / Classlists
Message from the School:

​Welcome Back Social is Friday, August 11th, starting at 3:30 p.m. in the MPR. The list telling you who your child's teacher is will be posted in the MPR during the social and then will be posted in the office window over the weekend. You may choose to log into the AERIES Parent Portal to see who your child’s teacher is starting at 4:30 on Friday.  The PTA will be there selling PTA Memberships and our new spirit wear!  

The PTA will also have a welcome social on the first day of school at 7:45am in the MPR.  Please come see us!  Kindergarten parents, please come and get a gift that will help comfort you after dropping your Pioneer off.

Spiritwear
Our new Pinetree spiritwear will be ready at the beginning of the school year.   This year's design features the symbolic Pinetree with our Pioneer's core standards along with our pesky mascot Pete peaking from behind.

Shirts will be $12 each for sizes XS-XL but we're bring back our great deal of 2 for $20. 2XL are $14.50 and 3XL are $15.00.  They will come in Heather Grey and Kelly Green

Orders forms will be going home in your welcome packets or you can order online once you receive your Pioneer's teacher.  Don't forget to have your students wear their spirit wear or school colors every Friday and show their Pinetree Pioneer Pride!

THE FORCE IS STRONG AT PINETREE!  WHY JOIN THE PINETREE PTA? HERE ARE SOME GOOD REASONS...

* PTA supports and funds some of your children's classroom special programs, enrichment programs (art/music/drama), family events, and field trips.
* Many of the fun parts of going to school, like the Fall Carnival, Spring Dance and Free Family Events are put on by PTA!

* The Pinetree community is full of amazing, diverse people all with one thing in common ... our children. Take advantage of this opportunity to socialize and build relationships with the people your child is in contact with every day!
* The most important reason is that you'll have a say and a forum to share your ideas. As a member you are welcome to come to any or all meetings that are held. However it is not mandatory to attend, it is voluntary.
* Anyone can join! PTA is an extraordinary group of moms, dads, grandparents, advocates, principals and teachers.

Box Tops Summer Contest
We hope you have been collecting those box tops over the summer because the new class that brings in the most box tops the first week of school will when a Popsicle party.  What better way to cool off after a very hot summer.

Volunteers Needed
We're looking for three great volunteers to help fill chairperson positions we have open for the 2017/18 school year. The three positions we have open are Reflections Coordinator, 5th Grade Committee Chair and Holiday Shoppe Coordinator. These positions are only active for a couple weeks during the school year. Pioneer Pete Fort Playground
There are many exciting changes coming to Pinetree Community School over the coming years and the first is in the process of being built.  We're excited for our Pioneers to get to play on the brand new Pioneer Pete Fort Playground which is being built on the former site of the Sunshine Building.  To learn about the additional exciting changes coming to Pinetree, we highly suggest attending one of the monthly "Coffee with the Principal" sessions (dates/times in calendar below)
